## Why crawl spaces fail here

### Should I encapsulate my crawl space in Louisiana?

It depends on the house. Full encapsulation — sealed vents, walls and floor with a dehumidifier — controls humidity best but costs more and needs maintenance. For many Baton Rouge raised homes, fixing drainage and installing a sealed ground vapor barrier solves most of the moisture problem at a lower cost.

### What moisture level is too high for floor framing?

Wood kept above roughly 19–20% moisture content for long periods is at risk of decay and attracts termites. We measure it and show you the readings.

### Do you fix sagging floors from under the crawl space?

### Will a vapor barrier stop termites?

No. It reduces moisture, which makes wood less attractive to termites, but you still need a termite treatment program from a licensed pest control operator.
